At Saint Michael’s, we are blessed to have a very active PTO. From fundraisers to facilities, the PTO board and general membership work tirelessly to advance our school among one another and in the local community.
PTO Mission: The PTO of SMHS is dedicated to the success of our school, our principal, administration, faculty, and student body. In all we do, our emphasis is to improve Saint Michael for our children and their future.
It is also our understanding that SMHS and our success are based largely on the grace of almighty God and the tireless efforts of our parents and teachers. Saint Ignatius once said, “Pray as if everything depends on God, and work as if everything depends on you.”

We need a few volunteers to attend the scheduled Open Houses to represent our school families. You’ll simply host and answer questions about St. Michael from other families that are considering attending our wonderful school.
Time Commitment: 1.5 hours
Warrior for a Day
Volunteers to help welcome visiting middle school students and their parents to SMHS for a shadow-day at SMHS.
Time Commitment: 45 Minutes
Volunteers to help with many elements of this wonderful Warrior tradition. It’s an opportunity for fun and fellowship around a bonfire with the whole family – siblings welcome! Our potluck dinner features both a pie-eating contest and the Annual Warrior Chili Cook-off. Bragging rights and prizes are awarded to the winners!
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours. Volunteers needed for: Set up, contests, clean up.
Spirit Week/House Day
We need volunteers to help serve lunch on this special day. The SMHS House Day happens during Spirit Week. New students will be “sorted” into their House (Dominions, Thrones, Virtues, and Powers – named for four of the choirs of Angels) – much like the Sorting Hat worked at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. The Houses compete for points through various field day competitions, as well as other events and service projects throughout the year.
Time Commitment: 2 hours to set up, serve and clean up lunch service.
Annual Casino Night:
Casino Night takes place once a year in the Spring. Our casino-themed event with “horse races”, roulette, craps, poker, and a silent auction is the PTO’s biggest fundraiser and we couldn’t do it without YOU – our volunteers. Play with “funny money” all evening and enjoy an adult night out.
Time Commitment: Varies by committee. Auction Committee: Procures support from businesses/individuals in our area; seeks advertising opportunities. Silent Auction Committee: Seeks donations for the silent auction. Ticket Sales Committee: Sells tickets. Hospitality Committee: Purchases refreshments for event. Talent Committee: Works the event as bartenders, ticket table. Set Up Crew: Sets up and decorates prior to the event. Clean Up Crew: Makes it all go away!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We appreciate our faculty every day but during this special week, we show it with tokens of appreciation.
Time Commitment: Varies, but typically 1 hour.
