Ann Brown
Student Life Coordinator
A co-founder of Saint Michael, Mrs. Brown currently serves as student life coordinator and SGA moderator, employing her organizational skills and hospitality and event planning experience for the benefit of the students.  In 2007, she founded the SMHS PTO, and served as president of the organization from 2007 to 2009.  Previously, Mrs. Brown held various accounting positions with both Anthony Kane & Associates and the American Life League.  She holds a degree in accounting and business management from Northern Virginia Community College, and is certified in Microsoft Office Suite.  Mrs. Brown is the mother of five children.

Roy Delaney
Secondmaster, Athletic Director and History
A former officer in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Delaney joined the staff of Saint Michael in 2008 as athletic director and, upon his retirement from the USMC in the summer of 2009, was promoted to second master. In this capacity, he is responsible for discipline, facilities management, and PTO/activities coordination, while maintaining responsibility for the management of the school’s athletics and physical education programs. Mr. Delaney’s background in communication and information technology management, human resource management, instruction, and strategic planning, as well as his many years of experience coaching youth sports at the middle school and recreation league levels, are evident in his work at Saint Michael. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement from Auburn University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Delaney is a member of the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (VIAAA) and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).

Melinda Giambo
Registrar and Physical Education/Health
Mrs. Giambo joined the administration and physical education/health department of Saint Michael in 2008, applying her 20+ years of experience in business management, healthcare, and fitness training for the benefit of the school.  Previously, she owned and operated a personal training studio, and served as the fitness/wellness manager and assistant fitness director for various health and fitness clubs in both Fredericksburg, and her hometown of Oswego, NY.  Mrs. Giambo began her career as a general practice nurse for homebound patients.  She attended North Country Community College, is a certified STOTT Pilates instructor, and holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, among many others in nutrition, health, and preventive sports injury training.  Mrs. Giambo is the mother of four children.

Sandra Gobar
Fine Arts
Mrs. Gobar joined the staff of the fine arts department in 2010, applying her years of experience as educator, artist, and museum arts administrator for the benefit of the Saint Michael fine arts curriculum.  Since 2003, she has served as an adjunct faculty member with the Smithsonian’s Residents Associates Program.  In addition, Mrs. Gobar has spent a total of eight years with the Corcoran College of Art & Design and Gallery of Art, as an adjunct faculty member, museum arts educator, and administrator.  Additional career highlights include vetting two Watercolours art books published by Harper Collins for Smithsonian Books, an Artist-in-Residency award in painting and mixed media from the School of Visual Arts in Chelsea, New York, and inclusion in 2000 Notable American Women in 1999.  Mrs. Gobar holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Norfolk State University, received graduate credit for independent study from Old Dominion University, as well as a certificate in drawing and painting from the Corcoran College of Art & Design.  She also has completed additional training in Paris and Italy.

Literature & Composition
A member of the faculty at Saint Michael since 2006, Mrs. Hiney teaches English and serves as campus minister at the school. In this capacity, she is the spiritual mentor and discipleship coordinator for the student body, arranging for weekly Mass, retreats, confession, and other spiritual events, as well as assisting the Culture of Life coordinator with the curriculum and monthly speaker series. Prior to Saint Michael, Mrs. Hiney taught a variety of middle and high school classes in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia, and has been a long-standing catechetical teacher. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Education from Molloy College in New York, a Master of Liberal Studies degree with an emphasis on Theology and Medieval Church History from the University of Mary Washington, and an advanced catechist certificate through the Diocese of Arlington. Mrs. Hiney is a published author, including an article about teaching in the book, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Sixth Helping, and the mother of six children.

Steve Johnson
Science, History, Modern Foreign Language and Mathematics
Mr. Johnson joined the faculty of Saint Michael in 2006, after many years as a newspaper reporter and two years of service to President George W. Bush at the United States Department of Homeland Security. He is a member of both the science and history departments at Saint Michael and serves as the faculty mentor for the History Club. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia’s own College of William and Mary, with a concentration in history and specialization in modern empires from Napoleon to the Soviet Union. He is a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America, and has four published stories of science fiction to his credit.

Headmaster and Modern Foreign Language
Mr. Lippe was named headmaster of Saint Michael the Archangel High School in June 2010, following an eight-year term as a religious studies instructor and administrator at Saint Anselm’s Abbey School in Washington, DC, a distinguished, Roman Catholic school founded and overseen by Benedictine monks. Most recently at Saint Anselm’s, he was the head of the middle school, a role in which he was responsible for communicating with constituents, overseeing student progress, evaluating faculty, and supporting the school and its leadership in furthering the mission of the school. Previously, Mr. Lippe served as a religious studies teacher at Saint Mary’s Ryken High School in Leonardtown, Maryland. He was a family development specialist for Boys’ & Girls’ Homes and Community Services in Silver Spring, MD, and he worked as a rural enterprise development trainer for CHP International of Chicago, IL. Mr. Lippe began his career in Senegal, West Africa, as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps. Mr. Lippe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College in Alexandria, Virginia. Married, he is the father of three, young children.

Fine Arts
Ms. Long joined the staff of Saint Michael in fall 2011, capitalizing on her 40-year music career as a soloist and conductor to initiate the school’s music program.  In addition to her work at Saint Michael, Ms. Long serves as the director of music ministries for Saint Matthew Church, a position she has held for more than 25 years; and is the founder and president of JoySong Ministries, a non-profit organization of musicians who provide therapeutic harp and vocal music to bedridden individuals in private homes and medical facilities.  She has held numerous teaching positions in music at both the elementary and secondary school levels in Virginia, Texas, and Arizona, and served as music director for the Fredericksburg Theatre Company in the 1980s, among other positions.  Ms. Long holds a Bachelor of Music in Choral Education, with minors in Instrumental Music and Humanities, from Arizona State University.   One of Ms. Long’s greatest accomplishments is that her choirs have sung in 11 out of 13 basilicas visited in Rome, as well as for Pope John Paul II.

Patricia Moeller
Modern Foreign Language
Mrs. Moeller joined the foreign language faculty at Saint Michael’s in fall 2009, where she is responsible for the Spanish curriculum. Her experience as a Spanish instructor includes positions with Germanna Community College and Odyssey Montessori School, where she taught a Spanish for Law Enforcement course and developed a Spanish education curriculum for grades pre-school to high school, respectively. Mrs. Moeller’s background also includes work as a Spanish translator and interpreter for the Fredericksburg Department of Health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of Mary Washington, as well as an A.A.S. in Liberal Arts from Germanna Community College.

Monica Montanaro
Classical Languages
A graduate of Thomas Aquinas College in Southern California, Ms. Montanaro joined the Saint Michael faculty in fall 2011 as a member of the foreign language department.  In this capacity, she is the school’s sole Latin instructor, building on her years of study in Medieval and Scholastic Latin, and her work as a private tutor in Latin and other subjects.  In 2005 and 2006, Ms. Montanaro was awarded the silver and gold medals, respectively, by the American Classical League for her performance on the National Latin Exam.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Philosophy and Theology, and is a trained pianist and organist.

Science and Sacred Studies
Mrs. Morin joined the Saint Michael faculty in 2010, bringing her years of experience in nursing and education to benefit the school’s science and sacred studies departments.  Throughout her career, Mrs. Morin has served in various nursing capacities, including ER and Critical Care Unit (CCU), ICU, NICU, and Level II Nursery, neonatal transport, neonatal resuscitation, and pediatric staff nurse, among other positions.  Furthermore, her career has involved numerous instructor/educator positions, including periods as a collegiate nursing instructor, childbirth educator, co-op instructor, and homeschool educator for grades pre-K through 12.  Mrs. Morin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University, and six, national certifications, most notably, her Medical Bioethics Certification from the National Catholic Bioethics Center.  She is the head swim coach for the Saint Michael Warrior swim team, assistant Warrior cross country coach, and a mother of four.

Chanell Rodriguez
Modern Foreign Language
A member of the school’s foreign language department, Ms. Rodriguez joined the staff of Saint Michael in 2010.  A native Spanish speaker, she has taught Spanish and standard education classes to students in grades kindergarten through 12, and also organized Spanish programs for both preschools and private centers.  Ms. Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, with a minor in Foreign Language, from Albizu University in Miami, and is working toward a master’s degree in education from The University of Phoenix.  In addition, she is a certified school administrator.

Mathematics and Master of Studies
Mr. Szymkowiak joined the faculty of Saint Michael in 2008, bringing with him more than 13 years of experience in teaching, including nine years in Catholic schools. He is the chair of the mathematics department at the school, teaching geometry, algebra II, and pre-calculus, as well as physics in the science department. Additionally, he serves as the Culture of Life coordinator, facilitating the monthly Culture of Life speaker series on topics related to bioethics, abortion, and other moral issues, and ensuring this “Culture of Life” is incorporated throughout the entire curriculum. Prior to the start of his teaching career, Mr. Szymkowiak held various pro-life positions in both New York and Virginia, including a successful, six-year effort to close a Planned Parenthood clinic in New York, and national director of STOPP International, a project of the American Life League. A native of New York, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Cornell University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and a Master of Science in Mathematics Education from Binghamton University. Mr. Szymkowiak holds teaching licenses for mathematics in the states of Virginia and New York.

Shannon Woloszynowski
Sacred Studies
Mrs. Woloszynowski joined the staff of Saint Michael in fall 2011, as a member of the Sacred Studies department, following a career in law enforcement in Fairfax County, Virginia.  Prior to her retirement in 1998 due to an injury in the line of duty, she attained the rank of Detective, was a certified Law Enforcement Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Hostage Negotiator, and won a Valor Award.  Beyond her experience in law enforcement, Mrs. Woloszynowski has held positions as both catechist and religious education coordinator for over eight years.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The George Washington University, as well as a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, with a concentration in Moral Theology, from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College.  Mrs. Woloszynowski is the mother of four children.
