Physical Education/Health
The Physical Education/Health (PE/H) program provides a comprehensive and flexible curriculum unique to Saint Michael the Archangel High School. There are four PE/H courses offered annually by which a student can earn the two PE/H credits required for graduation. The PE/H curriculum has been developed in accordance with guidelines set forth by the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) and the Virginia Department of Education Standards of Learning (VDOE/SOL).
PE/H-1
This course is geared toward freshmen and focuses on the fundamentals of fitness and health.
PE/H-2
This course is a more advanced course geared toward sophomores and upperclassmen. Students are provided the opportunity to earn Red Cross certifications in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), life guarding, and water safety instruction.
PE/H-3
This is a half-credit course offered to athletes and/or team managers that focuses on the fundamentals of team management and training.
PE/H-4
This is a half credit course focused on developing and implementing a self-paced running fitness program.

The mission of Saint Michael the Archangel High School is to prepare each student to lead an exemplary Christian life through the development of his or her full academic, spiritual, moral, artistic, and athletic potential.
