About the School
Welcome to Saint Michael the Archangel High School! Located on 19-acres in historic Fredericksburg, Virginia, we are an independent, four-year, co-educational high school steeped in Catholic tradition and values, serving young men and women in grades nine through twelve. In that spirit, we are dedicated to preparing each student to lead an exemplary Christian life through the development of his or her full academic, spiritual, moral, artistic, and athletic potential.
How do we achieve such a lofty mission? It all begins with fostering Christian values through example, course work, and attendance at Mass; nurturing intellect by providing a rigorous academic environment that cultivates critical thinking and communication skills; and shaping character through service projects, and a student-monitored honor code. In so doing, we invite and prepare our students not only to study but live their faith in a Catholic school community and, ultimately, in the outside world.
We offer a classic, college-preparatory curriculum with a wide range of science, mathematics, English, foreign language, and history courses, including numerous honors and Advanced Placement (AP) sections, so as to accommodate students with varying levels of ability.
